Simoton Scholarship
The Simoton Scholarship was developed in 2006 during the Sims-Moton wedding. The Scholarship represented the married couple's first official expense and the union's commitment to support the community.
The Scholarship goes to the president of the African American Association at USC Upstate and USC Union ($250 each). In return, recipients are asked to attend monthly NAACP meetings. The hope is to match future leaders with the nation's oldest civil rights organization.
